About DUCKERING'S INTERNATIONAL

Service Advantages

Direct Service

Most shipments are picked up at point of shipment, line-hauled and delivered by the same truck. Handling and transferring of shipments is kept to a minimum. This is an important advantage to shippers with freight that is subject to damage due to handling.

Service Coverage

We are licensed for all Canadian provinces and the continental United States. Utilizing our own fleet and a network of associated carriers we can provide competitive rates and service anywhere in Canada and the United States. If we are not positioned to give you the best service we will tell you that as well.

Transit Times

Generally count on 500 miles per day plus loading and unloading time. This is comparable to or better than general over the road service.

24/7 Dispatch and Customer Service

Live personnel to answer your call during normal business hours, after-hours office phones are forwarded to an on-call person.

On-line Dispatch and Invoicing

On-line customer access to information and documentation.

Satellite Tracking and Communications

All trucks are satellite and cell-phone equipped so we always know your shipment status.

Local Alberta Service

We have local drivers and equipment in Calgary and Edmonton to provide cost effective pickup and delivery service.

Rates

Rates are based on trailer space occupied for lighter bulkier commodities and weight for heavier commodities. Rates are generally quoted “per pallet”. 1 pallet occupies a 4’ x 4’ space in trailer or weight of 1700 lbs. Rates are quoted from 1 pallet (LTL) to full truckload (FTL).

Fuel Surcharge (FSC)

Fuel Surcharge is based on actual operating costs from inception of FSC in 1999. Calculated each Tuesday using average diesel fuel prices provided by the United States Department of Energy and indexed to the Canadian - U.S. currency exchange rate. Weekly updates via email notice.

Experience

Many of the current management team members have over thirty years of transportation experience.

Accessibility

Owners and management work in the company on a daily basis so questions and concerns can be addressed immediately.

Alberta Owned and Operated

Owners and employees support local communities and businesses with their patronage: Albertans reinvesting in Alberta.

Power Equipment

Owner Operated highway tractors. Drivers are contracted, owner-operators and are paid based on a percentage of the load revenue. This means that the individual handling and hauling our customer’s freight have a vested interest in serving the customer. In fact the customer is the driver’s customer as well.

Trailers

Late model 53’ air ride dry van trailers equipped with load securement equipment.

Special Equipment

We can supply logistic straps, decking bars, ramps, and furniture blankets for a higher level of care and efficiency for your shipments upon request.

Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Materials

We are trained and licensed for the transportation of dangerous goods and our safety standards meet or exceed the requirements of the United States and Canadian governments.

Canada Customs Bonded

A bonded carrier posts security with the CBSA to move goods to a CBSA office inland (not located at the border) to have the shipment released. Post audit status.

FAST Approved

The Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program is a commercial clearance program designed to ensure safety and security while expediting legitimate trade across the Canada–U.S. border.

C-TPAT Approved (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)

C-TPAT offers trade-related businesses an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism. By participating in this first worldwide supply chain security initiative, companies will ensure a more secure and expeditious supply chain for their employees, suppliers, and customers.
